DISTRIBUTION OF BAMBOO SEEDINGS TO THE COMMUNITIES IN BUDUDA DISTRICT

SETTING UP THE NURSERY BED FOR THE EADIBLE BAMBOO SEEDLINGS

A well-prepared nursery bed is essential for healthy bamboo seedling growth. It starts with choosing a shaded, well-drained site enriched with compost. Raised beds are created to improve drainage and aeration. Bamboo seeds or cuttings are planted in rows, watered regularly, mulched, and protected from pests. After 3–4 months of monitoring, strong seedlings are ready for transplanting, ensuring better survival and productivity in the field

Over the past two weeks, we have been honored to conduct a transformative value addition training on bamboo in Bududa District equipping women and youth with practical skills in crafting a variety of bamboo products including: Tables, Glass holders, Necklaces & Earrings Office Organizers, Mats & Trays This hands-on training not only boosts entrepreneurship and income generation, but also promotes sustainable use of local resources. We extend our sincere appreciation to all stakeholders, the Bududa District Local Government, and community leaders who witnessed and supported this impactful initiative. Together, we are shaping livelihoods and building a greener, empowered future.
